Maximize Space-Efficiency
The high-density design of ToughArmor MB606SPO-B packs six 5mm-7mm 2.5" SSD/HDD hot-swap bays and one Ultra-Slim CD/DVD/Blu-ray ROM optical disk drive into a single 5.25" drive bay, perfect for space-sensitive applications such as powerhouse PC, portable military workstation, and rackmount industrial PC.
MB606SPO-B's newly designed optical drive bracket features an adaptable design to support Ultra-Slim 9.5mm CD/DVD/Blu-Ray ROM optical disk drive reader.
MB606SPO-B's tray is designed to support HDDs and SSDs up to 7mm in height, making them compatible with SAS drives as well as SATA drives. SAS drives are used in enterprise applications such as long-term archival for their long lifespan and higher reliability
Designed for Versatility
When you're using an ultra-slim disk drive, installation is easy using the conveniently labeled screw holes. Once connected, simply secure the built-in screw and your drive is locked into place. This ensures that your optical disk drive reader stays put, even under heavy movement or vibrations.
When it's time to replace or upgrade your CD/DVD/Blu-ray optical disk drive reader, removal is just as easy. When the bracket screw is loosened, the spring-loaded ejection arm is revealed. Simply pull the ejection arm to remove the optical disk drive from the enclosure.
Built Tough
ICY DOCK's ToughArmor uses a ruggedized full-metal construction throughout the enclosure and trays, and this trend continues with the MB606SPO-B. ToughArmor is specifically designed for industrial applications operating in strenuous conditions, such as in military and medical applications, avionics systems, factory and warehouse machinery, and any application requiring a flammability rating.
Packed with Features
To prevent the build-up of dust, which over time can clog internal connectors and inhibit airflow, the included dust cover protects the enclosure when an optical drive is not in use. When you're ready to install an CD/DVD/Blu-ray optical disk drive, the dust cover is easily removed without tools or screws.
Individual LED lights for each bay give you drive status updates at a glance, letting you know when your drives are powered on or in use.
A user-controllable 40mm cooling fan works with the ample ventilation holes in the tray and chassis to remove as much heat as possible and keep drives running at optimal temperatures. The fan can be set to high for intense mechanical HDD applications, low for use with cooler SSDs, and can be shut off completely to be cooled by the computers built-in cooling system.
Support for SATA data and power cables with locking latch designs, so you'll never have to worry about cables accidently disconnecting while in use. Once these cables are connected, they'll stay locked into place until manually removed, providing a reliable power and data connection.

Make ToughArmor On-The-GO!
With MB991U3-1SB

To access your data outside of your system or in a remote location, the ToughArmor MB991U3-1SB is the way to go about. The drive tray slot of MB991U3-1SB is compatible with a variety of ToughArmor drive trays including the ToughArmor MB516, MB607, MB991, MB992, MB994, MB996 and MB998 series. This allows existing ToughArmor users to access their internal drive externally without opening up the case. It is a great tool for an individual drive diagnostic test. If you need to do a safe data erase or just simply expending system storage capacity, just remove the tray from the internal ToughArmor unit and insert it in the MB991U3-1SB to perform individual tasks externally with USB 3.0 interface. Best of all, the MB991U3-1SB uses USB bus-powered and it does not require a power adapter to operate. Simply connect the USB cable to any system and you are ready to go.

Frequent Asked Questions |
Q: Can I replace the cooling fan attached to the device? Will doing that void the warranty? |
A:The cooling fan we used has been thoroughly tested with the drive enclosure to ensure it functions properly and supports the fan speed control (for select models). Therefore, we suggest our customers keep the original fan for the best result. However, we understand the stock fan may not be suitable for all the applications, so we elected to honor the warranty when 3rd party fan is using. The warranty may void if the 3rd party fan causes electrical damage to the device, though.
Q: Which specification should I check before buying the 3rd party cooling fan? |
A:The following information is the fan specification requirement and compatible fan models for MB606SPO-B
Fan Dimension (LxWxH) |
40 x 40 x 10mm |
40 x 40 x 20mm |

Q: Does MB606SPO-B support the new SATA 3.3 Power Disable feature (PWDIS)? |
A: The MB606SPO-B does not support the SATA 3.3 PWDIS feature. If you install the SATA HDD/SSD with PWDIS in MB606SPO-B, the drive will not spin, and the system won't detect the drive. See the list below for known SATA HDD/SSD with the PWDIS feature.

Note: the SAS hard drive or SSD does not use the Pin 3 of SATA power connector for PWDIS feature and compatible with MB606SPO-B.
While we recommend to avoid using the SATA HDD/SSD with PWDIS, you can use the methods below to disable the PWDIS feature physically if you already purchased the drive:
Method 1 – Using the Molex to SATA adapter or cable to disconnect the power to Pin 3 of the SATA power connector.
Molex to SATA Adapter |
Molex to SATA Cable |
Method 2 – Placing Kapton tape on Pin 1-3 of the SATA power connector to isolate the 3.3V power, as shown below.
