M.2 drives are hard to install or swap and are usually fastened onto the motherboard. ICY DOCK Concept Enclosure CP053 brings NVMe M.2 SSD to the 5.25" frontal drive bay and allows for easy drive swapping and better accessibility. It also packs the features that are suitable for enterprise users such as rugged full metal housing with lockable drive caddies and dual-action M.2 SSD cooling system.

We introduced convenience onto the drive installation process by bringing NVMe M.2 SSDs onto a removable drive caddies, with the ability to store up to 4x NVMe M.2 SSD in a single 5.25" drive bay.
M.2 SSD Installation Made Easy
The removable drive caddy of CP053 can be used like a hot-swappable disk in a 5.25" frontal drive bay. The drive caddy supports 2230/2242/2260/2280 type M.2 SSD, and it can easily be removed/inserted without opening the computer case. This feature is especially useful for any enterprise user who wishes to have a cost-effective NVMe SSD solution. The CP053 allows enterprise users to hot-swap an M.2 SSD just like a U.2 SSD but at a much lower cost.
Dual-Action Drive Cooling System
Overheating is a known issue for NVMe M.2 SSD and to solve this issue, we have implemented a dual-action cooling solution, an individual M.2 SSD heatsink and dual rear cooling fans. The dual fan draws cold air from the front and exhausts hot air to the rear. The heatsink increases surface area for M.2 drives and allows better contact with the cold air and dissipate the heat more efficiently.
Optional Dual Blower Upgrade Cooling Kit for Maximum M.2 Drive Cooling
For users who prefer to store two drives with better cooling performance for the M.2 SSDs, the top two drive caddies can be replaced with an optional dual blower fan kit to make sure M.2 drives run at max potential even under a full load. The dual blower fan sends the air directly to the M.2 SSD's heatsink. The blower fans' speed can be adjusted with the dial and can be turned turn on and off with the individual switch.
