ToughArmor MB996SK-6SB features a strong 40mm user-adjustable cooling fan with high, low, and off settings, easily configurable for different environments whether you need high heat dissipation or silent operation. While ventilation holes on the tray work with the cooling fan for maximum ejection of heat. The heat dissipation properties inherent to the metal chassis further assists cooling.
Active Power Technology (APT) allows each LED and the cooling fan to be active only when a hard drive is inserted into the same bay of the enclosure.
The EZ-Slide Micro with Metal Lock trays makes driver interchangeability and maintenance completely hassle free. The Eagle Hook latching mechanisms works together with the metal key-lock mechanism to securely hold drives and prevent unauthorized access, protecting your sensitive data.

The drive tray slot of MB991U3-1SB is compatible with a variety of ToughArmor drive trays including the ToughArmor MB991, MB992, MB994, MB996 and MB998 series. This allows existing ToughArmor users to access their internal drive externally without opening up the case. It is a great tool for an individual drive diagnostic test. If you need to do a safe data erase or just simply expending system storage capacity, just remove the tray from the internal ToughArmor unit and insert it in the MB991U3-1SB to perform individual tasks externally with USB 3.0 interface. Best of all, the MB991U3-1SB uses USB bus-powered and it does not require a power adapter to operate. Simply connect the USB cable to any system and you are ready to go.

"The ICY DOCK MB996SP-6SB is certainly a nice addition to many servers and workstations. It is a hot-swap cage with one purpose: fit six 2.5″ drives into a 5.25″ expansion bay. The hot swap cage brings a few features we would expect with ICY DOCK products: the use of metal as a primary material and a highly configurable fan setup. The net of this is that ICY DOCK MB996SP-6SB is a solid option for those looking to house six 2.5″ drives in a compact space. An added benefit is that the drives are in a hot-swap mobile rack which can be great for sharing drives or quickly replacing drives when the time comes."
